Slow Cooker Red Cabbage Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 large head of red cabbage, cored and shredded
- 2 medium apples, cored and chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions:
1. Place the shredded cabbage, chopped apples, and onion in a slow cooker.
2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, butter, salt, black pepper, and ground cloves.
3. Pour the mixture over the cabbage, apples, and onion in the slow cooker.
4. Stir everything together until well combined.
5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours, or until the cabbage is tender.
6. Stir the cabbage occasionally during cooking to ensure even cooking.
7. Once the cabbage is tender, taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
8. Serve the slow cooker red cabbage as a side dish with your favorite main course.
